1 Project Overview
A foreign-funded chemical company acquires a paint and paint chemical plant. Due to the need for process upgrades and remodeling, the foreign-funded company requires inspection and appraisal of the main production plant. The inspected factory building is a three-layer reinforced concrete frame structure, using pile foundation, and the building area of the factory building is about 5,200 square meters. 2 Reinforcement design
Project defects
The diameter and number of the longitudinal reinforcement of the column inspected meet the design requirements. The deviation between the measured value and the distance between the diameter and spacing of the column stirrups inspected is within the range of the specified allowable deviation, which meets the design requirements.
The diameter and quantity of the bottom ribs of the spot-checked beams meet the design requirements. The deviation of the measured values of the diameter and spacing of the stirrups of the spot-checked beams from the design values is within the specified allowable deviation range and meets the design requirements.
The diameter of the steel slabs in the spot check and the diameter of the steel ribs in the slab at 3 points do not meet the design requirements. The deviation between the measured value and the design value of the spacing of the steel bars in the spot check is within the specified allowable deviation and meets the design requirements.
The deviation of the measured values of the column and beam geometric dimensions and floor thickness of the random inspection from the design value is within the range of the stipulated allowable deviation and meets the design requirements.
After analyzing the three points where the steel bars of the floor slabs do not match, it is found that, without exception, all the steel bars used in the horizontal and vertical bars have different diameters. In the original design drawings, separate reinforcement is used for the reinforcement of the floor slab. The upper support steel reinforcement and the lower overall reinforcement of each slab are individually configured, and the diameter spacing is different. This undoubtedly brings difficulty to the construction. The construction workers of the construction unit cannot check the drawings well enough to cause the above-mentioned problems to occur.
Structural strengthening materials
Based on the problems found, it was decided to consider the most unfavorable conditions for the production plant, and carry out reinforcement design.
Structural reinforcement material: carbon fiber
Because the carbon fiber reinforced plastic has the following characteristics:

The reinforcement design uses carbon fiber equivalent strength calculation. The width of the carbon fiber cloth is 100mm and the thickness is 0.167mm. The design value of the tensile strength is 3 600MPa, and the distribution interval is 300mm.
3 Conclusion
After adopting the above-mentioned measures, the reinforcement project of the main production plant of the chemical company passed the final acceptance. It repaired the defects of the original plant at a relatively small cost, dispelled concerns for subsequent owners, and successfully completed the acquisition.
