FRP wrapping strengthening
Due to the increase of load due and the change of function, the original beam of the original floor will not meet the design requirements and needs reinforcement. carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP)wrapping was chosen to reinforce it.
Project Overview
The former residential building in Siping City station was built in the early 90s, with a frame shear wall structure at the bottom, 2 storey frames at the bottom and 4 upper floors. The original design is 1 and 2 floors are restaurants (live load is 2.5KN/ m2), and kitchen (live load is 4.0KN/ m2) is located on the first floor. Now we plan to redecorate the KFC chain store, move the kitchen to the 2 floor, and sell the dining table in the original 1 levels of kitchen. Due to the increase of load due and the change of function, the original beam of the original floor will not meet the design requirements and needs reinforcement. After the demonstration of the scheme and the comparison of economic and technical feasibility, carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP)wrapping was chosen to reinforce it.

Solution
In order to strengthen the anchorage of the carbon fiber cloth at the bottom of the beam and to increase the shear ability of the beam, 160mm wide U hoops are pasted on each side of the beam end, and each side of the main and secondary beam is pasted with the 160mm wide U type hoop.
The bonding of U type should take the height of the section of the member. For U type paste, the longitudinal carbon fiber batten should be pasted at the upper end.
Considering that the factors influencing the construction site of CFRP sheets are large, it is suggested that the number of CFRP sheets should not exceed 3 layers.
