Strengthening With Prestressed Carbon Plates To Solve The Bearing Problem Of Bridge Superstructure Caused By Cracks
During the inspection of the bridge, it was found that the bridge had the following diseases
The main load-bearing components of the upper part of the bridge, including the overall box girder bottom beam, web beam, and flange beam, all have cracks, and the maximum width of the cracks reaches 0.35mm (exceeding the specification limit of 0.3mm). The main diseases lead to insufficient bearing capacity of the main beam of the upper structure of the bridge, worsen the operational condition of the bridge, affect the safety of bridge operation, and affect the durability of the bridge concrete.
The design selected the prestressed carbon fiber plate, it is an active structural reinforcement scheme, which improved the bearing capacity of the bridge through active reinforcement, and solved the problems of exceeding the measured transverse cracks in the middle of the bridge span, insufficient bearing capacity of the upper structure main beam, and deterioration of the main beam's service condition.
The use of prestressed carbon fiber laminate reinforcement technology to solve the disease problems of the bridge has saved a lot of funds compared to demolition and reconstruction. Not only does it not require interrupting transportation, but it also greatly shortens the construction period, which is beneficial for local people's transportation and has significant social benefits.
