The business building is a high-rise building that started construction in 2010 and covers an area of approximately 985 square meters.
When the business center project entered the decoration stage, cracks appeared on the podium floor, mainly due to temporary changes in the fly ash manufacturer during the production of commercial concrete, resulting in concrete performance variations and cracks.
To ensure safety in use, relevant parties have conducted verification calculations on the structure, and the original floor structure is a cast-in-place slab system with primary and secondary beams (concrete strength grade C40, slab load-bearing steel bars are Grade I steel bars, and beam load-bearing steel bars are Grade II steel bars). The structural checking calculation shows that the floor crack and the normal section of the main and secondary beams need to be strengthened.
Based on the tight construction schedule and the fact that the external dimensions cannot be changed, after scheme argumentation and economic and technical feasibility comparison, and with the consent of the owner, it is decided to reinforce the beams and corresponding plate cracks in this area with carbon fiber cloth externally.
