Column leakage retrofitting method by fiber reinfroced polymer(FRP) composite

For the non root part of the column, the loose concrete is removed first and then cast without shrinkage. After the strength of the slurry is above C30, the ring type 100mm width and 300g fiber reinforced polymer(FRP) composite should be pasted in the range of leakage (vertical spacing 100mm).

Column leakage retrofitting method by fiber reinfroced polymer(FRP) composite

Project overview

The four storey commercial and residential building is a frame structure with a flat area of 15m * 36m, and the two column spacing is 7m and 6m respectively, and the column cross section is 400mm * 600mm. In the process of beam and column construction, the vibration is not in place. After the dismantling of the column side die, it is found that there are honeycomb and leakage phenomena on the surface of the column, and some columns are more serious (the maximum leakage depth is 230mm), and the column has a rotten root phenomenon.

Reason analysis and reinforcement scheme of leakage vibration

Analysis of causes of leakage

Through field investigation, the main causes of serious leakage vibration of the column concrete are as follows:

  • concrete for on-site mixing: concrete liquidity and uniformity pay difference;

  • one layer of beam and column is poured together: the beam and column joint is very dense, the maximum clearance is 45mm, and the column is 4.2m high. The vibrating rod can not be rammed in place.

  • the responsibility of the site operators is poor: the root of the column is not cleaned up, and the concrete is not easy to vibrate in place, and no effective measures have been taken.

Column retrofitting scheme

The serious leakage vibration of column concrete affects the stress of the main structural members and causes great hidden danger to the safety of the whole structure. In order to solve this quality problem thoroughly, according to the actual test situation, the degree of damage and the location of the column, the following plans are worked out:

  • The loose concrete is removed first and the cement pressure grouting method is used to treat the internal crevice, and then the non shrinkage grouting material is used for leveling. When the strength of the slurry is above C30, the 100mm 300g and the fiber reinfroced polymer(FRP) composite with root ring should be reinforced.

  • For the non root part of the column, the loose concrete is removed first and then cast without shrinkage. After the strength of the slurry is above C30, the ring type 100mm width and 300g fiber reinforced polymer(FRP) composite should be pasted in the range of leakage (vertical spacing 100mm).
