CFRP strengthening-Nanjing New Town Science Park

During the construction and use of the park, the office building has caused damage, defects or other unsafe factors in the original design or construction, resulting in insufficient bearing capacity and structural cracking, which can not meet the requirements of the safety,So choose CFRP for strengthening.

Project overview

Nanjing new town science park is located in Jianye District, Nanjing. It covers an area of 4000000 square meters, with a total building area of 5000000 square meters. In 2003, it was approved by the Nanjing municipal government. It is the largest high-tech industrial park in the main city of Nanjing.

During the construction and use of the park, the office building has caused damage, defects or other unsafe factors in the original design or construction, resulting in insufficient bearing capacity and structural cracking, which can not meet the requirements of the safety, applicability, stability and durability of the structure. Therefore, some components need to be reinforced to meet the needs of structural safety and current stage.

Selection of reinforcement scheme

In view of the defects in the design and construction, the commonly used reinforcement methods in the engineering are the steel strengthening method, the bonded carbon fiber reinforcement method, the enlarging section reinforcement method and the external prestressing reinforcement method. Due to the requirements of building functions, construction conditions and construction period, the project has put forward many restrictions on the selection of reinforcement schemes.

Compared with other reinforcement methods, carbon fiber reinforcement has the characteristics of high tensile strength, light weight, corrosion resistance, strong durability, short construction time and so on. After reinforcement, it does not increase the weight of the component basically, and it can ensure that it works with the original component.

It has little influence on production and life, and has no significant influence on the appearance of the original structure and the original clearance, and is suitable for the flexural or tensile members in the normal humidity environment.

Considering the advantages of the above two methods and the comparison of the characteristics of the project and the economic and technical feasibility, the Party A finally decides that this project mainly adopts the carbon fiber reinforcement method to reinforce the local members.
