Externally bonded carbon fiber reinfroced polymer(CFRP) to the bottom of slab. The high tensile high strength carbon fiber fabric past on the surface of the concrete structure by using special epoxy resin and form a whole to work together to improve its bearing capacity.

1. Cause

The control of elevation during the pouring of concrete is not in place.


2.Solution

Since the main works have been completed, rework and rework will bring huge economic losses. If the concrete thickness is increased at the top of the slab, it is difficult to effectively consolidate the completed concrete, so it is difficult to achieve the reinforcement effect. Under the existing plate thickness, the tensile strength of the plate bottom is added to improve the cracking bending moment of the plate at the elastic working stage and the bearing capacity of the crack working stage to continue to develop, thus increasing the area of the plate compression working face and improving the bearing capacity of the slab.


3.Operation method

FRP wrapping the slab

Bottom treatment of concrete slabs - coated with epoxy putty - pasted carbon fiber wrap -  curing - protected - finishing and acceptance.


The bottom side is pasted with carbon fiber cloth and the width is 100mm. The spacing is 300mm.
